Anyone who is a member of any library in Essex has now the chance to register for the four hundred odd courses that are being offered via the Internet. The topics include computer skills, skills required in the workplace, alternative treatments, cookery, courses in writing skills, psychology as well as courses related o business.

A member has the option of signing up for a minimum of five courses at one time and this implies that a person can learn and improve on a variety of skills, from enhancing ones prospects for a job to trying to acquire a new pastime.

Every course would be of about ten to twenty hours duration and it would be provided via the Internet. The participants would also have to undertake written tasks and exercises. Jeremy Lucas, the County Councillor stated that learning has constantly been the core at all libraries and said that they were extremely happy and proud to have been able to avail of nationwide finances assisting them to provide a terrific variety of courses other than many of alternate opportunities that are made available in the libraries.
