Leeds to mark Bonfire Night with exclusive fireworks displays

October 26th, 2017 by Sandy

Leeds council has signed up Fantastic Fireworks, the specialist pyrotechnic firm, to put on fireworks displays on the city’s Bonfire Night event. The contract worth £34,000 will have events put on at Woodhouse Moor, Springhead Park, Roundhay Park, Middleton Park, East End Park and Bramley Park, on 3rd November (Friday) night.

A report put out by senior council members says that the decision taken was most pragmatic and although the contract had alternative providers considered, the decision represents both security assurances and best value. According to the report, Fantastic Fireworks in particular, has ability to manage 6 bonfire events held simultaneously with accredited staff. It says the purpose of the free events is to deter unauthorised local events by people and to remove pressure on the blue light services. These free events offer members of the public, hailing from all communities, a night to enjoy together the pyrotechnic displays and bonfires.
