A free event in this month at Ilminster, is the Textile Fair. The fair will be hosted at the Ilminster Arts-Centre, in East Street, on 21st October, Wednesday. ‘Vintage but with a modern twist’ is how it is being described, as the free event in Somerset will feature the work of several skilled and talented Dorset and Wiltshire artists and makers. The event is curated by the group ‘Talent for Textiles’.
The fair will have some vintage textiles and haberdashery, and some of the makers combine age-old techniques with a modern twist, to make items that fit in settings of contemporary homes. Skilled artisans use vintage textiles and vintage embroidery, linen and haberdashery, to present unique pieces of work.
