Ilkley Summer Festival coming back with free events

The Ilkley Summer Festival is coming back to town on 1st August. The first weekend of August will see the Cabaret on The Grove starting with the town’s favourite HoneyB’s and Dominic Halpin, on 6th August. The opening ceremony of the festival is on 1st August, at 11:40am, on Yorkshire Day.

From 12th August until 14th August, the continental market returns daily to The Grove. The Wheatley Arms will host a pizza extravaganza on 12th August. As part of the festival, Ilkley’s history will be revealed in a series of heritage guided walks. On 16th August the Ilkley Jazz Festival will be launched featuring performances at different venues.

Jazz performances include- on 18th August, at 7:30pm, at The Craiglands Hotel, The Firebird Quartet; on 19th August, at 6:00pm, at Mountain Restaurant, a James Birkett and Emma Frisk performance; on 19th August, at the Winter Gardens, Tina May and musicians. On 20th August, a full day of jazz will feature the QCBA Quartet, Beverley Beirne, Graeme Wilson Quartet and Gary Potter.

The Ilkley Summer Festival will conclude on 27th August, with a fitting finale, The Concert on The Grove, from 6:00pm to 10:00pm, organised by the Parish Council. Entertainment includes a top Yorkshire band and Opera North stars’ popular music. The full programme of the free events are available on the website- ilkleysummerfestival.com.
