Revealed: Hull’s first ‘free school’ impressions

Hull's Free SchoolThe historic Boulevard site, the former home of Hull FC, will be converted into first free school of Hull and will be called the Boulevard Academy. This school will begin from September next year with 100 students in Year 7 and subsequently growing each year.

This £10 million school will be constructed by BAM and will be beyond the control of the local authority. Yet it will be managed by Hull City Council. Students of this school will get English baccalaureate, a qualification rewarded to students passing through 5 GCSEs with grade C or above inclusive of English, one Science, Maths, one humanities subject and one foreign language. A leading educationalist named Carol White along with Boulevard Academy Trust will lead the free school plans.

School facilities such as indoor and out door sports activities, dance, art, conference and drama will be available here. Interested parents are welcome to put down the names of their children in this school. To know more about the school, parents’ evenings will be held at the Boulevard Village Hall tonight and on October 3rd (Wednesday) between 6pm and 8:30pm.
