The popular free event Herts Open Studios, an arts festival for the past 25 years, has been celebrating Hertfordshire’s very own creative artists. It is to take place from 5th to 27th September, this year, its silver anniversary, organised by a team of dedicated volunteers of Herts Visual Arts.
Every year, since 1990, artists and craftspeople working or living in Hertfordshire, numbering around 200, have opened the doors of their studios to visiting public. The popular county-wide event is expected to attract some 12,000 visitors this September. The event aims to brig awareness of the diversity of talent and introduce the artists to galleries, general public and other enterprises. Visitors are encouraged to talk and interact with artists about their work or even have ago at it themselves.
Painting, sculpture, photography textiles, glass, print-making, ceramics and jewellery work by participating artists will be showcased at New Kaynard Gallery, The Campus, Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire, for the free event of Hertz Open Studios, this September. Pick one of the 25,000 colour brochures available across the county at tourist information offices, museums and libraries, containing details of opening hours, the artists, images, etc. Copy of the brochure and more information is at the site- hvaf.org.uk.
