The awards night of ‘We Can Do it’ is a much anticipated event, which will be presented in the Kings Theatre in Southsea, Portsmouth, on 2nd November (Sunday), and will start at 3:00PM. The event awards is a result of a year long coverage of kind hearted groups, individuals and businesses who have carried out commendable work in their communities. Nominations for people and organisations for such work were made on the first Friday of every month. It has been put under 10 categories that highlight the best of community spirit. The 6 awards of each category are- Personal Achievement, Best Art/Community Project, Care of the Environment, Spirit of Youth, Best Business, Best School, Best Volunteer, Best Garden, Best Street and Service With A Smile.
Once again presentation will be by Steve Power of Wave 105 fame. Performing on the day will be Portsmouth Grammar School pupils of an extract from Kiss Me. Dancers of Boyle O’ Dowda Academy-of-Irish-Dance will be performing here too. Free tickets are available on a first come, first served bases to the general public.
