Christmas celebrations arrive at the Victoria Park in Widnes, with a fun-filled a Panto in the Park event on 3rd December (Sunday). Princess Aurora from Sleeping Beauty will arrive with Father Christmas in a glittering glass carriage, to the park. There’s a sneak preview of songs by the cast of the festive show at The Brindley and they will mingle with the crowd to chat and take selfies. There’s also Santa’s Grotto, free donkey rides, face-painting, choirs, crafts, and falconry at the park, between noon and 3pm. The Santa Dash event expects hundreds of runners to take part at 11am, before festivities start. Halton Haven hospice is hosting the fun-filled run for the 7th year and invites fundraisers to come dressed in red.
A board member of the events, Councillor Eddie Jones of Halton, remarked that Christmas is a time when so many people come to participate in and enjoy the free event, and the council organising it to create a true festive spirit with seasonal activities. Heading the panto cast is Crissy Rock as Fairy Nuff. Princess Aurora is played by Rebecca Lake and Chester the Jester is by Andrew Curphey.
