Free workshops to teach children to be dog safe

September 15th, 2014 by Sandy

The Dogs Trust will be conducting free workshops to teach children on how to be safe with dogs by encouraging the schools in Wales to sign-up for one of them. This follows last year, as the Dogs Trust had last year worked in Wales with 90 schools and over 23 workshops were arranged.

‘Be Dog Smart’ is the new initiative launched this year by the charity which is focussed on teaching children about dog safety. On its 11th year, the workshops will engage children through interactive lessons, teach a variety of suggestions and give them knowledge to deal with dogs. They learn how to greet a dog, understand what a frightened dog does and what to do when the dog jumps up.
