Short story writers are being invited by Dorset Writers Network (DWN) to submit short stories that will be used for an e-book anthology. Budding creative writers are sought to write short stores reflecting all aspects of Dorset life for this book scheduled to be published later this year. The writers are being offered to free workshops that are specifically designed to bring out their creative ideas. The workshops will be held across Dorset, from 12 January to 14 February. Workshops sessions will be held at Bourton, Upway, Crossways, Verwood, Stalbridge, Martinstown, Horton and Chalbury, Durweston, Askerswell, Cerne Abbas, Sturminster Marshall and Winfrith Newburgh.
Professional writers will lead the workshops. Adults who love writing, of all ages, with no previous experience, can all join. The sessions provide inspiration and advice, but expect participating writers to produce a short story of up to 500 words. Participants can submit their stories free of charge. Subsequently DWN’s panel will short-list to make the successful entries for the project.
DWN is run by arts facilitators and professional writers. The group aims to promote projects , events and training for Dorset’s writers . Workshops’ venues are listed on the Event page of the site- dorsetwritersnetwork.co.uk. Those willing to sign up for a free workshop can contact sue@dorsetwritersnetwork.co.uk.
