A free workshop on Horticultural Therapy will be held on 21st January (Thursday), at the Strathfoyle Library (Derry, Londonderry), from 2pm to 3pm. The workshop, led by Liz Hanvey, a horticultural therapist from Blossoms (Larne Lough), is one of the many being planned as a part of the ‘Health in Mind’, a Live and Learn programme funded by the Big Lottery.
It offers a great opportunity to join with many others to find out ways of gardening. Working with nature really helps people to cope with stress in life and shows the effects of stress, anxiety and depression can be got over. The interactive 1-hour workshop shows that the best ways to soothe the mind and give mental rest is to work with horticulture and plants. More details on the free workshop is available at Strathfoyle Library. Or call 028-7186-0385. Or send email to- strathfoyle.library@librariesni.org.uk.
