To develop the tourism and attract more tourists, Cumbria Tourism is welcoming the businesses in northern areas of the country to take part in their 3 important international travel markets. Hadrian’s Wall and Pennine Way are among the national walking trails which was funded with £1m from Discover England Fund of £40m by Visit England. This is aimed at promoting England’s 7 national trials to attract more visitors from Netherlands, Germany and USA. Cumbria Tourism is in partnership with Marketing Peak District & Derbyshire to get maximum exposure for this project.
The national trial project will help and support to develop the walking routes that take visitors in the track along with tour/travel operators & Walking holiday companies in the UK. The itineraries will also have the places to visit, eat and stay along the way.
Cumbria Tourism will be having tie-up with Northumberland Tourism to provide free training & support to businesses in upcoming months at various locations. These free workshops are aimed at making businesses to get closer to either the northern part of the Pennine Way National Trail or the Hadrian’s Wall National Trail.

The businesses can come to learn about the importance of being a part of a National Trail and to know more about the expectations of international walkers from Netherlands, Germany & USA.
