A free music workshop is being organised in Milton Keynes on 10th July, Thursday. School brass players across the schools here are being invited. The free morning workshops by Bollywood Brass, a London-based band, will take place simultaneously at Shenley Brook, Ousedale and Stantonbury secondary schools. Afterwards, a concert will be held at The Chrysalis Theatre in Willen, in the evening at 7pm. Pupils at each workshop will learn and practice a few pieces with three musicians of the band. They will be playing the pieces later at the music concert.
Bollywood music is a very popular type of music and Bollywood Brass (formed in 1992) is UK’s pioneering band. This Indian style wedding band wields saxophones, a colossal sousaphone, tablas and dhol drums, presenting joyful, exhilarating acts. The entertaining and energetic Bhangra music is their speciality. Students are advised to check with their music teacher or head-teacher on availability at the workshops.
