A free trial of public Wi-Fi is being implemented in Cambridge just in time for the event of Tour de France. Since this flagship event is arriving in Cambridge within a fortnight from now, precisely on July 7, Wi-Fi access points in excess of 20 numbers have been created towards connecting the Cambridge University and Cambridgeshire. This will help the people of Cambridge to share event experiences, online, by tweeting and otherwise.
Cambridge’s overall network capacity will be put to severe challenges on account of the increased traffic resulting from the free Wi-Fi usage by thousands of the general public, as well as sports enthusiasts.
