Would it not be a great sight to watch about a 1000 brides in all, adorned in their wedding finery and wearing shoes for running? Well these brides in Belgrade were all getting set to run and win a race that would provide the winner with a free wedding.
The dolled up women ran more than one hundred and fifty meters in an attempt to win the grand prize. The lucky winner, Ms Sanja Cigoj completed the run in a matter of just nineteen seconds.
Some of the brides to be tried to better their options of a win by donning short dresses, while some others totally took up the challenge by dressing in wedding dresses that were full in length.
The women who took the second and the third places were also awarded dresses that they adorned to participate in the annual programme.
Zorica Jovanovic informed Today’s THV that they wanted to display their interest and eagerness for sports through the programme.
One of the participants jokingly stated that her groom was waiting at the finish for her in the hope that she would win the race however since she was unsuccessful their wedding would not take place that year.
