There are series of free training sessions on emergency life saving techniques, being held at various locations – Dundee, Carnoustie, Dundee, Perth, Arbroath and Montrose starting from June 12 to July 30. All these sessions will last for 2 hours.
Heartstart Discovery in Tayside area is conducting these free sessions for interested persons in knowing how to give first aid to someone affected to keep alive till such time they get professional’s treatment.
British Heart Foundation is a registered heart charity which is engaged in cardiovascular research to discover treatment for heart diseases. Heartstart UK is one of the coordinated initiative by them along with its volunteers and its aim is to promote training on Emergency Life Support across the UK. Heartstart Discovery is a part of this initiative. They are regularly conducting such free sessions across Tayside.
Schedule of training sessions are:
June 12, Tuesday at Carnoustie between 7 to 9 pm
June 13, Wednesday at Dundee between 7 to 9 pm
June 16, Saturday at Perth between 10 am to 12 noon
June 22, Friday at Montrose between 2 to 4 pm
July 25, Wednesday at Dundee between 7 to 9 pm
July 27, Friday at Arbroath between 10.30 am to 12.30 pm
July 30, Monday at Montrose between 2 to 4 pm
These are free training sessions and there is no need for medical knowledge to undergo this training. The professionals will teach on what to do and how to care for someone in the conditions of unconscious but breathing, unconscious not breathing, choking, finding out the signs of a heart attack and heavy bleeding.
A certificate will be issued to the attendees who is undergoing this training.
One of the coordinators of Heartstart Discovery – Helen Brady said that knowledge of life saving techniques will save someone in emergency to stay alive until gets real professional help. This will be one of the important trainings that one should have got in their lifetime. On the basis of requests from various clubs, organisations and any groups, these life saving training sessions can be organised.
