Free to attend Belgrade Mela in this summer

Upon success of the past four years events, the Belgrade Mela has again come back this year summer 2018 on Saturday – July 21, 2018 with the celebration of south asian cuisine and culture. The event runs from 12 noon to 5 pm on the day at Belgrade Theatre located at Belgrade Square, Corporation St, Coventry CV1 1GS, UK.

The events suit for all age groups and include everything such as dancing and drums, kids craft, chai which is a better place for family entertainment. The range of activities which are happening throughout the day are popular workshops on teaching to play the “Dhol” in the B2 auditorium and at the “Bollywood & Fusion Dance” Workshops where you can learn dancing.

You can find the events of “arts and crafts” to information stalls in the main foyer. You can find the children zone activities at the first floor of the event place and also can take part in the activities of learning a new language to soft play.

New event to this years’ mela is speech about a project of the Warwick University “Colonial Hangover” to be held in the Bubridge room and an exhibition on the first floor gallery will be running along which is the exploration of hidden legacies based on the research on Jakarta & Coventry. The talk covers the elements of spoken word poetry – ‘The Migrants Tale’ by Nikita Shah and Questions & Answers session with Professor Matthew Watson.

And who wish to taste the cuisine, can join the café for variety of tasty food and drinks including brand new afternoon Chai which is a desi twist with the elements of British classic and taste the delicious menu of items such as sanwiches, cakes, pakoras, samosas, bhajis and chai.

There will also be wide range of stalls to running along to buy your favourite picks. As the Belgrade Mela is an unticketed free to attend event, all are invited to come along with your family and friends to enjoy a variety of activities of music, dance, crafts and more on the mela.
