The Official UK Gay Wedding Show will be arriving at Newcastle Pride to mark the occasion. On 19th July, Sunday, a host of North East venues will arrive at Newcastle Civic Centre, to outline what is in offer to same sex couples looking at marriage. John Dixon has the license to run shows in several cities. As organiser he said that they are happy to bring the show back to Newcastle after the successful show last year. They were unable to have venues exhibit at last year’s show, but now moving to the Civic Centre they have many top hotels exhibiting, he added. He also said venue spaces have sold out quickly and few spaces are left and interested suppliers have to be quick. John Dixon pointed out that the events are relaxed and fun unlike a stressed traditional wedding show and legalising same sex marriages have made new clientèle to exhibitors.
Same sex marriages have been legalised in the whole of United States recently. A landmark vote had the same result in Ireland a few weeks earlier.
