Crawley’s festival of words, WORDfest, will be held from 12th April (Tuesday) to 23rd April (Saturday) with the free-ticketed event starting at Crawley Library, Southgate Avenue. The event in its 6th year, kicks off with a comedy night starting at 8:00pm on Tuesday. As free tickets are being offered for the 2-week event, it is open to persons 16 years of age and above. After the opening night, the event is followed by creative workshops, author talks, recitals and spoken word performances. Four comedians are in the line-up including Stephen Bailey.
Four female authors will discuss on 18th April about the influence Agatha Christie had on the genre and about good crime writing. On 16th April, ‘Get Stuck In Day’ will be organised for children to be let loose for activities in the library. Desert Island Books is for literature lovers, where authors will talk about their favourite books.
