The English Touring Theatre (ETT) are supporting a production by Sell A Door, the multi-award winning play- ‘The History Boys’, which will be directed by Kate Saxton. The 2004 play by Alan Bennett, is being revived for a tour of UK in 2015 and ETT is going to give away 200 (100 pairs) free tickets throughout the tour. They will be given free to those who never have attended their local theatre.
The tour opens from 26 to 31 January next year at Palace Theatre, Southend. Later it would be visiting Malvern, Exeter, Bromley, Portsmouth, Blackpool, Ipswich, Edinburgh, Birmingham, Brighton, Coventry and York. Artistic Director of Sell A Door, David Hutchinson, expressed their delight in launching the new season with this favourite play, partnering with ETT to subsidise free tickets to first time patrons. In a poll by ETT the play was voted the nation’s favourite.
