The BBC will be at the Manchester International Festival that’s being held from 2nd July to 19th July, to broadcast live the first week. Free tickets through a ballot system will be issued for performances and shows, which is now open until 26th June, Friday.
Mark Radcliffe of Bolton, along with Stuart Maconie, co-presenter of Radio 6 Music, Phil Williams of Radio 5 Live, Sam Walker and Becky Want of Radio Manchester, all will be at the purpose built Festival Square studio, to present their shows. Mark Radcliffe along with Kristy Wark of Newsnight, will showcase a selection of best performances and music of this year’s festival. The recording will be broadcast on BBC Four on 12th July.
Radio 3 will be broadcasting in front of a live studio audience at the Pavilion Theatre. The BBC Philharmonic will perform ‘The Immortal’, as a world premier, alongside the Festival Square hub. This is the work of Mark Simpson, the young Liverpool composer. Musical pieces will be performed on 4th July at The Bridgewater Hall. CBeebies will also join with new performances by some of the best names. There are many other performances and live shows.
