Free theatre workshops on voice and movement by Duns Players

November 10th, 2014 by Sandy

The performance of ‘We Will Remember Them…’ on Remembrance Day will depend heavily upon the voices reading letters and articles based on the Great War. The Chair of Dun’s Players, Peter Lerpiniere, explained that thanks to a grant from the BBC Performing Arts Fund, they are able to engage Cathie Owens once again to run a free workshop open to the community, and also fund Kedzie Penfield for the Movement in Theatre workshop, on 15th November. The venue for both the workshops will be at Volunteer Hall Duns.

On 15 November, the Movement in Theatre class will be held between 1pm and 5pm. It will be on using movement to help character development. On 23 November, the second workshop on ‘Voice in Performance’ will be held to help teach techniques to develop charterer through speech pattern and vocal mannerisms. Both workshops are free sessions and places will be given on first come, first served basis.
