At Coventry
Wheelchair rugby is coming back to Coventry. The Coventry Rugby Club and Great Britain Wheelchair Rugby have joined together to bring back Rugby to the city.
There have been 4 free taster sessions on 24th November and 1st, 8th & 15th December organised at Coventry and open to adults or young players suffering with physical disabilities and having minimum age of 12 years. There is no need for prior experience required. The taster sessions will be held at Xcel Leisure Centre, Mitchell Avenue, Coventry, CV4 8DY between 9.30 am to 11.30 am.
The participants will be given with all required equipment and trained by ex-GB player and three-time Paralympian Mandip Sehmi. He said that it is very exciting to see the launch of wheelchair rugby arranged by Coventry Rugby and GBWR. Wheelchair rugby is a great sport for disabled people giving wide opportunities as they cannot take part in other sports. It will help people to stay fit and feel their abilities.
