Free taster sessions on dancing at Harrogate

There have been free taster sessions on dance organized by the Harrogate Youth Dance Company on Thursdays, April 11, April 18 and April 25, 2019 at the St Wilfrid’s Parish Church Hall, Duchy Road, Harrogate, North Yorkshire, HG1 2EY. The sessions will be held between 4.15 pm to 5.30 pm.

A new group focused on youngsters to encourage them to stay active through dance is launching this week. The Harrogate Youth Dance company which has been funded by the Arts Council covering 6 areas of North Yorkshire, works to motivate youngsters with dancing. Those young people aged between 9 to 18 years can take part in their free taster sessions organized this month.

Rural Steps, set by Ruth Johnson and Katie Hewitson, is supporting the project to drive youngsters to work with professional dancers in forming fresh dance work.

Ruth told that dance can have positive impact on mental and physical health. Dance is for all and should be accessible by all. That is the reason behind such dance company.

Katie added that this is really a wonderful project to give a chance to all to try out dancing. It is not only dance movements, but also lots of games and creative work involved with imagination on dancing and at the end of the day, the participants can have more fun and meeting new people.
