Do you feel that you have the talent of singing? Would you like to try out chorus? Here the recruitment is being done by the Royal Opera House Thurrock Community Chorus for their chorus team. There will be two free taster sessions held on Monday – September 10 & September 24, 2018 at Palmer’s College, Chadwell Road, Grays RM17 5TD and scheduled between 7.15 pm to 9.30 pm.
The Royal Opera House Thurrock Community Chorus invites the residents of Thurrock council aged above 8 years whether you work, live, study or volunteer, to make use of this free sessions and join the community chorus team to fine tune your voice. The chorus team runs weekly rehearsal sessions every monday and meets during term time. There is a subscription fee applicable for adults at £40 and for children at £20. If you like the free taster sessions, you can join the weekly rehearsals.
The free sessions provides a chance for the participants to meet the chorus members and the Chorus Director and you can find their wonderful vocal talents and more details about the chorus. The Chorus team sing a mixed repertory of classical, opera & contemporary music which were sung in the original language. Recently they have performed at the Port of Tilbury for the Windrush celebration and there will be more performances planned during 2019 also.
The chorus is requiring those with bass voice or lower tenor. There is no prior experience of singing or ability to read music required for taster sessions and these sessions are not auditions, those interested can take part in it. No doubt, these sessions will help the participants to make use of this opportunity to sing along with musicians, singers and other groups and develop their skills and abilities and the public performances of the community chorus across the region show their talents and commitments of them.
