February 22nd, 2019 by Sandy

There are various free taster sessions happening in Buckinghamshire in February and March. The residents of Buckinghamshire can try out any of their favourite sports and physical activities at these taster sessions to get relief from mental stress.

The mental health charity – Buckinghamshire Mind has secured funding from Sports England and the National Lottery under the “Get Set Go” Programme to encourage people to get involve in any sports or activities to improve their physical and mental health and well being.

The charity is helping people who have mental health issues by building confidence among them to join in some activities of sports clubs either swimming, running, boxercise, gym or football. The charity is working along with the Country Sport & Activity Partnership – Leap to execute sports and sessions in the community along with the local sports or leisure centres.

Chief Executive of Buckinghamshire Mind – Andrea McCubbin said that they knew physical activity will be helpful in the lives of people having mental problems to reduce their depression. As many of them lack in self confidence or due to anxiety, they hesitate to take part in any sports.
