Do you have interest in volunteering?
Here there has been a free taster day on Friday – November 16, 2018 at the Courtyard Cafe of Pensthorpe Natural Park, Pensthorpe, Fakenham NR21 0LN, United Kingdom between 9.30 am to 4 pm. People who are interested and aged 16 years & above can take part in Conservation Work Day. Those interested volunteering in conservation of nature and wildlife can come along and gain some knowledge at one of Norfolk’s largest attractions by volunteering in horticulture, aviculture, conservation and visitor interaction.
Here you can learn on how they are managing their reserve & habitats. This is a great chance for those who cannot volunteer regularly with this one day service to help them in their work and meet new people. You can work along with their Reserve Manager/ Wardens who are working on scrub management and do some willow bashing, cutting etc. A bonfire will be held depending upon the weather. You can help them in visitor demonstrations and help Conservation Trust in protecting threatened species.
This session will help you to learn new skills, develop your C.Vs for employment and interaction with others as well as improve your physical and mental well being.
Owner Deb Jordan said that their volunteers offer contrasting skills and experience helping their teams to bring new ideas to grow. Volunteer Allan Archer of Wymondham said that volunteering in natural environment has transformed him and working in Pensthorpe which has vast area of biodiversity is more thrilling.
Volunteers will be given with training – an induction about its functions & familiarisation trip with regular meetings. Lunch and tea/cake will be arranged on the day and advance booking is essential. You can contact 01328 851465 to book your place or to know more about free event. Or you can visit www.pensthorpe.com.
