There has been a free taster session organized by the Andrew Simpson Watersports Centre on Friday – May 3, 2019 at their centre at Osprey Quay, Portland DT5 1SA.
The ASWC has got funding from Children in Need and they plan to run their weekly sailing clubs in the entire season for children with special needs and they offer the sessions at a discounted price of 5 per person, per session. These sessions have been supported with the funding for the 3 years with the ultimate aim of providing youth to engage in watersports such as paddleboarding, sailing and kayaking.
The ASWC have planned to offer the Aiming High sessions with 12 places each session initially which will run from May 12, 2019 on every Sunday mornings at Portland centre. These sessions are suitable for the children with special needs such as physical disabilities and learning disabilities.
For this, they start with a free taster session on May 3 which will run from 9.30 am to 12.30 pm on the day. The special children with their carers can participate in the water sports and can know more about such activities.
