There has been a free taster session on family history organised on Tuesday – January 8, 2019 at Rawdon Community Library located at Micklefield Park Rawdon, New Rd Side, Rawdon, Leeds LS19 6DD at 10.30 am.
Then there will be a course on Women in Family History which will begin on Thursday – January 31, 2019 at 1.45 pm running every fornight. The five session course will cost £35. The Workers’ Educational Association will run the course with the tutor Jackie Depelle and promoted by Aireborough Civic Society and Rawdon Community Library.
A spokesman said that this is best suitable for those who are beginning research on their family history or their house. Really this is a great chance for the participants to know about their ancestors and their history.
He also said that the Rawdon Library is offering a subscription for individual research to the ‘Find My Past’ & ‘British Newspaper Archive’ websites. Hence the course members & other library users can do find birth/death/marriage certificates and old censuses for free at the opening hours of the library. Even you can find your photos of your ancestors appeared in newspapers using online archive.
