There will be an official launching of a new facility of the Team Bath Gym & Fitness Centre on Tuesday – February 26, 2019 at the University of Bath. They are providing free taster session on the day to all staff, students and the public. The session will begin from 11 am and open to all aged above 16 & above years.
The new facility will be opened at 10 am on the day by Professor Bernie Morley, Deputy Vice Chancellor of the University of Bath and Amy Williams who is an Olympic Champion and Lewis Moody who is Rugby World Cup winner will be present on the day as special guests. Some of the free coaching sessions and group exercise classes will be led by them on the day. There will also be free sports massage sessions, competitions etc.
The new facility is two storey building which is also double the size of existing centre at the Sports Training Village and having spacious upper floor with 2 studios for group exercise activity.
There will be a circuits class led by Moody, the former England Rugby Captain Moody and Sam Holmes, Health & Fitness Manager Sam Holmes at the group exercise studio between 11.30 am to 12.15 pm.
There will be fitness instruction by Williams who is a Vancouver 2010 Skeleton Gold-medalist provided to small groups between 11.30 am to 12.30 pm.
There will be a Target Cycling in the new 22-bike spin studio and Hatton Boxing.
There will be free massage sessions offered by the practitioners from the Team Bath Physio & Sport Science Centre on the day between 12 pm to 5 pm.
The visitors can also take part in Competitions which will be running between 11 am to 5 pm and can test their speed on the sprint track, take part in jumps test and win prizes.
Director of Sport at the University of Bath – Stephen Baddeley said that the new centre will enhance their existing world-class training environment and they are happy to provide the public a chance to try out for free during on their launch day.
