Free taster on arts sessions at Bishop Auckland townhall

There has been free taster sessions on various arts organised on Tuesday – September 25, 2018 at Bishop Auckland Town Hall, Market Place, Bishop Auckland, County Durham DL14 7NP. There will be various creative taster sessions on Batik bunting, Ceramic Tiles & Textures, Textiles & printmaking held.

There will be two sessions on the day. The first session will start at 10.30 am with Batik bunting session and run till 12.30 pm. It is an ancient art of fabric painting of Indoneasia. Join them for practical session to find the basics behind the ancient fabric printing and you can learn usage of hot waxes, rich dyes and inks to create your own art.

Followed by the first session, there will be a ceramic tiles art workshop between 1.30 pm to 3.30 pm. You can learn here at the workshop basic texture techniques and practival experience of making your own beautiful ceramic tile textures with the help of a friendly and experienced ceramics tutor.

The Town hall’s operations officer – Janet Strong said that the taster sessions are great opportunity to get some new knowledge of creative arts and they have fun activities like ceramic tiles designing where the participants can learn many techniques. The participants will be taught by an experienced and friendly tutor.

These sessions are open to adults of all abilities and there is no need for any prior experience required. As the places are limited, please book you place in advance. The weekly sessions thereafter the tasters will be charged at £2.
