The London Academy of Dance is offering free 30 minute lessons to anyone interested in trying it out. The lessons are offered under their Private Dance Lessons category and Wedding Dance Lessons category. The dance academy operates from The Reebok Sports Club, on 16 – 17, Canada Square, which is a 2-minute walk away from Canary Wharf DLR.

The London Academy of Dance was started by one man, Greg Gillespie, an ISTD Fellow and British Champion. It was started in 2005 and has grown to have more than 1,000 students presently. It is now looking to open a second school in the capital. Principal of the dance academy, Greg Gillespie, says a lot of people come to join ahead of their weddings. The academy welcomes people of all ages and abilities, or from any section of society. Greg says dancing is pure escapism and people feel empowered when they dance. He feels anyone can learn to dance and uses the analogy,’think of it like driving a car’. The academy is associated with UK’s leading professional dance associations, such as, The Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD) and the International Dance Teachers Association (IDTA). After the free taster lesson, anyone willing can join the range of options in dance lessons at the academy.
