Afrikan Boy will host the festival stage at this year’s free Summer Festival at Africa Centre. The free event will take place in Southwark, London on 19th August (Saturday) He is a MIA collaborator and songwriter and has invited to join him on the Black British Music Stage, the Dee Ajayi and Gambimi, and alsoThe Fedz, a 13-strong collective.
The centre’s team behind Young Africa group has programmed The Young Africa Centre Stage and will be featuring some of the best and new artists in spoken word, soul and Afrotrap. Highlights include- Uyi and Josh Tenor, Kelz BTK, Nia Kanem, Autumn Sharif, Afriquoi, Amira Kheir, Sneakbo, Seed of Creation and others. The festival will host elsewhere Sokari Douglas Camp’s art installation, the work of Larry Amponsah and Georgina Maxim on a gallery exhibition, a pop-up cinema, plus craft and food stalls.
