A team of storytellers will be keeping children spellbound at the Ha’Penny Pier Visitor Centre in Harwich. The free event in its third year, is being hosted by Harwich Society on 28th August, the Bank Holiday Monday, at an annual storytelling day. The storytellers are led by June Bretherton. Others include Lesley Elliot, Mariah Heath, Rosemary Quaintance and Mary Lake.
Lesley Elliot co-ordinates, at the visitor centre, the activities for children. She said when a group of children listen spellbound to a story, there’s something magical about it and everybody is caught up in the atmosphere. The volunteers of Harwich Society are looking forward to this lovely event, fit for all ages, she added. There will be various stories of mice and dogs narrated and a repeat of last year’s storytelling walk by Bernei Sadler will run between 10:30am and 4:30pm. Lesley Elliot hopes every family member will find pleasure and be inspired by this free event of the Harwich Society.
