Glasgow has special plans to celebrate the one year anniversary of the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games. Glasgow Life will mark the occasion by hosting a series of free sports days. The free events will give young people in communities across the city the chance to try out sports of the Commonwealth games that was held nearly one year back.
The Anniversary Games are planned at 5 venues used during the Glasgow Games. Another 6 will take place in local sports centres at other parts of Glasgow. Glasgow Club Crownpoint, the running track used for the Games, will host the first sport day. Other events will be hosted at Glasgow Club Scotsoun, Tollcross International Swimming Centre and the Emirates Arena. Fun days for families will be held at Kelvingrove Tennis and Lawn Bowls and Glasgow Green Hockey Centre. It will also be held at Glasgow Club centres, which includes Bellahouston, Springburn, Easterhouse, Donald Dewar and Castlemilk.
