500 pairs of free shoes are being offered for the first 500 people who participate in a walk for charity barefooted the next day.
The episode will be taking place at Wollatan Park to collect funds for the Room to Breathe Crusade being conducted by Nottingham Post.
The programme would be conducted the 46 year old Lee Todd belonging to Sawley, and his initial aim was to see that the world record for the largest barefoot walk was broken. Sadly however there does not seem to be requisite number of participants who seem interested.
He however stated that in spite of the lack of participation they would carry out with the event and he also stated that they wished to gather as much funds as they possibly could. Unfortunately he said, they have not been able to get many people to sign for the event, but hoped that there would be a better crowd on the day of the event.
The barefoot walk with the most number of participants that created the record had been by 2,500 students the Palamuru University in India in the month of November two years ago.
The event that commences at 9.30 in the morning would be gathering money for the Room to Breathe Crusade the chief objective of which is to try and get 60,000 pounds to build a room in the new fibrosis centre in the Nottingham City Hospital campus.
The participants who sign up for the walk would have to pay an amount of ten pounds and there would be 500 pairs of shoes that will be provided free to the people who participate till stocks last.
