Free sessions at Rugby and Daventry Sailing Club

August 17th, 2015 by Sandy

Here is a free session to try out sailing in the open waters. The free sailing sessions are being offered at the Rugby & Daventry SC, open to all on 22nd August, Saturday. Get a taste of the sport in this summer’s sunshine, when they open the doors from 2:00pm to 4:00pm. Find out how accessible and sociable it is. Rugby & Daventry SC meets the highest standards of quality and safety, as it is a RYA Training Centre which is recognised.

The Taster Day is open to all and even people who never have considered getting into a boat are encouraged. Those who would like to learn to sail and want to sample it are welcome, so are sailors who are looking for new club. The sailing club will be hosting in coming September, the learn to sail course by RYA.

Those who like to join the free taster session need to be in comfortable clothes, some old trainers that can get wet and a waterproof and / or sunscreen. Refreshments will be given , safety brief will be provided along with buoyancy aids and equipment.

Sailing can be a family friendly sport. Mums, dads and kids can all enjoy as there are different boats. Once trained, you can sail alone, or in pairs, or even together as a family, depending on what boat you like. The sailing club has training boats and that can be hired, once you take up the sport and join the club.
