People of all ages are invited to the Sport, Health and Wellbeing event on 4th October, Saturday, from 10am to 3pm. This is a ‘Connecting Communities’ event. A first being hosted at the Towcester Centre for Leisure. The free event is sponsored by the South Northamptonshire Council, South Northants Leisure Trust and New Clinical Commissioning Group, with support of South-Northants Volunteer-Bureau (SNVB).
Numerous free activities include karate lessons, trampoline classes, fencing and a treasure hunt for young children. Displayed will be an inflatable bowel to learn about the digestive system and bowel cancer. There will be a range of health related information and advice, a dermatology consultant to examine moles, smoking cessation advice and GPs as ‘Street Doctors’ offering advice at the free event. See information displays, including Emergency Services, the Northamptonshire Police promoting ‘Road Safety’, representatives from the Fire and Ambulance services and additional activities by Disability Inclusive Sports Club (DISC).
SNVB will be offering travel on the Village Network minibus for community groups. Sport activities require booking (Call 01327 322 480).
