February 6th, 2017 by Sandy

A new project that offers free support to unemployed people to help build a better future, is hosting a free taster session, ‘Is It For Me’, on 23rd February (Thursday), in central Guildford. Those living here can benefit from free support to them, to help confidence and skills, and to develop ideas they need to create a social enterprise or become self employed.

Inspiring Enterprises tailors the support to unemployed people, or for those who seek to return to work, such as carers, lone parents, those from minority communities and people with disabilities. The project is funded by Big Lottery Fund and European Social Fund.

The free support takes the form of ‘Is It For Me’ sessions exploring self- employment and about social enterprise; Meet The Boss sessions; mentoring to help with business plans; Face-to-Face meeting for ideas and advice; networking opportunities; workshops & training sessions for basics.

Surrey Community Action is hosting the free taster session ‘Is It For Me’. It is based in Burpham and one delivering the initiative across the west and north-west areas of Surrey. It covers part of Hahmpshire too. It works with Fredericks Foundation, Action Hampshire, WSX Enterprise and The University of Winchester.
