The Scalextric event at The Avenue Shopping Centre in Newton Mearns, will feature a 4-car, 4-track, interactive session starting on 30th June, Monday, ending on 3rd July, Thursday. Kids of all ages get together in one of the best loved children’s games to race against each other.
This event coinciding with the week of British Santander Grand Prix, kicks-off the mall’s free entertainment activities in conjunction with Scotland’s Summer of Sport themed events, that run from Monday to Thursday, from 12pm to 4pm, for 6 weeks. Michelle McCabe, Centre Manager at the shopping mall, said their free Scalextric racing events will thrill racing car enthusiasts, giving them the joy of their youth and the unbeatable experience of beating competitors to the chequered flag. There are a number of other events scheduled at The Avenue in the coming weeks, with a series of free events coinciding with the second half of school summer holidays, at the new public realm space of the shopping centre.
