Pets at Home is holding free workshops in Hamilton, to teach kids about handling and caring for animals. The sessions, running from 7th to 22nd October, will let children interact with pets and learn about them. The next generation of pet owners will be educated in pet responsibility, in a series of free and fun events. They will learn to look after animals and prepare smaller animals for hibernation, for the darker and colder winter months ahead. They will learn about wearing reflective clothes while dog walking and get the chance in-store to hold some pets.
The free workshops at Pets at Home is part of their My Pet Pals Activity Club events during autumn school holidays. Most of the store’s staff are pet-owners themselves and they will share their knowledge at the workshops in a fun and friendly way. Pets at Home store manager, William Johnston, said children would learn the importance of responsible pet ownership and how during autumn and winter seasons pet care can change. He added that those who don’t have a pet also can interact and learn about pets for free.
