Free parking in Copeland on this Christmas & New Year

The Copeland borough council is a borough in western Cumbria of England. The borough’s council is based in Whitehaven. The Copeland borough council, on the occasion of Christmas &New Year festive season, offers free parking facilities for the residents from Saturday December 22, 2018 to Tuesday – January 1, 2019.

Their 10 of the car parking areas which are managed by the council are available for use at free of charge. The parking areas include Senhouse Street, School House Lane, Copeland Centre, Whitehaven Sports Centre, The Beacon Museum, The Ginns and North Shore, Chapel Street & Beck Green (Egremont) and St Bees Foreshore.

Mayor of Copeland – Mike Starkie said that they are pleased to offer free car parking, by supporting town centres, on the occasion of Christmas & New Year time.

They are encouraging the residents of Copeland to shop in the local stores and go for dinner/ drinks at local restaurants to support the businesses in the town as Christmas is the right occasion to go around St Bees Beach or Whitehaven harbour. There are many family activities planned at the Beacon Museum along with Wildlife Photographer of the year exhibition. The residents will get free entry to the museum under Pass Scheme.

It is for the attention of the residents that those parking marked as permit-only bays within these car parks are not available for public use. Only the above parking areas are offering free entry whereas many other private owned parkings are chargeable.
