The Chancellor in his Autumn statement announces a 650 million project to provide 40% of 2 year – olds with Free “early education”. Currently 15 hours of nursery education for 38 weeks a year is given to all three year and four year –olds.

Despite the fact that this scheme is planned to attract the women voters, almost 260,000 two year-olds are going to be benefited. This new scheme is expected to help mothers to resume their work partially. It would narrow the country’s increasing social divide. The funds for the scheme would be distributed through local authorities with an object to support the needy families.

The Govt. has decided to step in to the arena and guide the young children to the right path through school following the warning given by the officialdom.

Government’s announcement of funding the nursery places for the 2 year-olds has doubled the budget. Earlier it was estimated that about 140,000 kids would be benefited from this project.

A multi-billion Pound package to improve infrastructure and a due share for the medium sized businesses are expected of the much awaited Autumn Statement. Consumers also expect some favours from the Statement.
