Writers’ Essentials, the Edinburgh-based company, has launched for aspiring authors and writers a series of free creative writing workshops. The classes explore the novel writing process from conception to its final submission. Founded in 2013, the company was formed to provide encouragement, support and feedback for aspiring authors. It deals with fiction and non-fiction likewise. The programme consists of 12 classes, called Novel Writing Pages 1 to 38, that take place on the first Tuesday of every month. The sessions will be parted to run before and after the National Novel Writing Month and each session will be filmed to be uploaded online.
Sarah Hull, the Creative Director at Writer’s Essentials, remarked that she had worked with many types of manuscripts, that everybody’s writing is different but that some principles hold true for everyone. She had wanted to do something in Edinburgh, like a writing course that takes people through the novel writing process, she added.
