Throughout January and February, free workshops called ‘Girls Make Music’ will be held for aspiring female musicians and sound enthusiasts. These will be held on selected days, repeated over the two months, as part of the Sessions programme by AudioActive, and range from professional mentoring to music production. They are led by experienced professional artist and held across a range of locations in Brighton, Eastborune, Fishersgate and Hove. AudioActive is a charity helping young people in developing their talent for music. Their Break4Change project aims to bring about better futures through education and talent development.
During term time, the Brighton based charity runs workshops every week, including Rap and Lyric Writing, Music Production, Band & Live Production and song writing. Participants also get chances to perform at large gigs and smaller open mic events. Some of the workshops are held in Brighton Youth Centre. Register to book a place, at one of the free workshops run by AudioActive, by going to their web-page – audioactive.org.uk/sign-up-for-sessions/. You can also donate at their website.
