Free music festival Deerjam coming to Banbury

May 30th, 2015 by Sandy

A new music festival Deerjam will take place, as a 2-day free event, on the 5th June, Friday, and 6th June, Saturday. The free music festival intends to promote Banbury’s talented musicians and singers at the Reindeer Pub, Parsons Street, a venue that dates back to the 17th century. The music will start off at 6:00pm inside the pub on Friday, as part of an acoustic night. Artists performing include Shadow Souls, Bushfieldsmith, Joe Blackman and Barnaby Newman.

On the second day, on Saturday, music will be hosted on a stage outside the pub, that can hold up to 400 people, starting from 1:00pm. Artists featured include Mississippi Disco, Crookshanks, The Boogiesnakes, Rufus Goodlove, Nonchalant Brothers, Leigh Chambers and The Duckworth on a headline act. Tanicha Bonham, one of the organisers and general manager of the Reindeer, said the pub is a flagship with Hook Norton Brewery, with the ale and cider festival and barbecue. She also said, although a free event, there’s fund-raising for two worthy causes, for the Katherine House Hospice and for a project for young people by the Cherwell Rotaract. There will be Raffle prizes, such as tickets for the Cornbury Festival and vouchers from many businesses on Parson Street, she added. For more details about the free event, go to site- deerjam.com.
