Dambarton will see its renowned music studio, the Skapade Studios, teaming up with Soma Records to set up a free 1-day educational event with others, like ‘Shoogle Studios, a successful music production studio of Scotland, called ‘Sona Skool’, on 31st March.
The independent studio situated in Castlegreen Street, is joining hands with Soma Records, the Glasgow-based label, which was co-founded by Slam, the electronic music duo, as a techno and house label and is one of the world’s leading electronic dance labels today.
Soma Skool is billed as a fresh and dynamic approach to study the electronic music industry. The event aimed at young people who are 16+, will take place at SWG3 Glasgow. Attendees can look at learning about the creative industry and talk to professionals from different fields. They can listen to discussions and get career advice from professionals belonging to production, performance, journalism, sound & light engineering, events, record labels and live digital streaming.
The free event will see Skapade Studios, Mixed Mag, Be-At TV, Lucky Me, BBC Radio Scotland, Shoggle Studios and others, presenting demos, industry panels and stalls, with the latest hardware, software and DJ equipment. The event will also feature a number of artists and more acts to be announced later. MD of Skapade Studios, Stephan Kirkwood, said they are happy to work with the most famous Scottish label and other brands.
