Free event to meet well-known authors, in Book Week Scotland

As part of the Book Week Scotland, free events are being organised by Renfrewshire Leisure for book fans to meet two well-known authors of Scotland. The free events run between 23rd and 29th November and will feature Lesley Riddoch, the broadcaster and writer. The other award-winning author is Alan Spence, also a poet and playwright.

On 23rd November ((Monday), at 7:00pm, Alan Spence will be at the Johnstone Library to discuss his literary career and writing. His recent books are Night Boat, the novel, the Morning Glory, a poetry collection, and No Nothing, the play. He will discuss and also read from the play and other works.

On 25th November (Wednesday), at 7:00pm, Lesley Riddoch will be at the Linwood Library. She will talk about her writing. She will discuss particularly her book, Blossom, her most recent work which analyses Scotland’s potential and problems.

Renfrewshire Leisure runs locally both arts & cultural services and leisure & sports centres. The development co-ordinator of Renfrewshire Libraries, Elaine Finlay, said the Book Week Scotland aims to encourage more people from all walks of life and ages, to read books and they also want more people to use their services on the network of libraries in Renfrewshire.
