The 4th annual Leamington Lantern Parade will be hosted on 11th December, Thursday, during the evening in Leamington town, where some 1,000 lanterns or more will be lit and paraded. Ahead of this year’s popular event, free workshops for lantern-making will be held throughout November and during early December.
Free lantern-making workshops will be held on 1st, 8th, 15th and 22nd November, from 10am to 4pm, at the Spa Centre. Free workshops will be held on 29th November at Warwickshire College- Leamington campus, also on 30th November and 7th December, from 10am to 4pm, at the Family Tree Club, Kenilworth Street. Free workshops for children will be held on 3rd December from 11am to 1pm, at Lamington Art Gallery and Museum in the Royal Pump Rooms.
The lantern parade will coincide with late night shopping for Christmas once again. The parade will include entertainment like music, stilt walkers and local singers. The procession will get under-way at 5:00pm from the bandstand and make its way to he parade. The culmination of the lantern parade will be at the Town Hall, where Christmas carols will be sung around the Tree of Light and with the chance to meet real reindeer. Those people who were unable to attend the free workshops can pick up a lantern-making kit for £5per lantern, from the BID Leamington office at 35c Park Court, which is off Park Street.
