Free landlord event at Wisbech

There has been a free event for landlords held on Wednesday – March 27, 2019 at The Boathouse Business Centre, 1 Harbour Square, Wisbech PE13 3BH. The evening event will run from 6 pm to 9.30 pm.

This is an information and advice event for Fenland District Council people, which is being organized to help the landlords in supporting for the best quality private rented accommodation in the region. The event is focused on the landlords to be aware on the legal rights and obligations of them and for the tenants to get best quality and safe accommodation at the district.

One of the National Landlords Association representatives – Inna Melnyk will be available on the day to brief the landlords on the latest legislation that are affecting the private rental sector. Detective Sergeant Chris Acourt from Northern Exploitation Team of Cambridgeshire Police will speak about the important role that the landlords play in the society in helping to manage modern day slavery. Paul Szyszko – the Department of Work and Pensions will be present on the day to give information to the landlords on the rollout of Universal Credit.

The Private Sector Housing Team of the Council will be explaining on the benefits from lettings service by the landlords and also offer free advice by the experts on the matters of property management. The participants can get a chance to meet and network with the Homelessness Prevention Trailblazer team, Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service’ representatives and Cambridgeshire Horizons that offers free service helping tenants to managing money and various housing options of the council and other services.

A spokesperson of Fenland District Council said that this is a wonderful event which helps to spread various important information to the landlords in the district. The landlords can also be able to get free support and advice from the council if they require.

Det Sgt Acourt said that landlords can find potential trafficking and are playing key role in helping the Cambridgeshire Police in managing modern day slavery through Operation Pheasant. Landlords who are being stay alert to the problem exist in the communities in the private rent sector and ensure for better property management, they can very well help in making Fenland as a better environment.
